I invite you to allow scripture to speak to you. Here’s one way that I have found beneficial.
Find a comfortable place to sit and read. When you are ready open the Bible to a favorite story and read it out loud. Often most Bible stories don’t give a great deal of detail so now close your eyes and put yourself in the story.
In your minds eye, view the events, notice the characters in the story, who is present, what do they look like, what are they saying, what scents and sounds do you hear? l paint the picture and fill it with details.
Put yourself in the context of the story as an observer.
Before you open your eyes pause and ask yourself … “is there a message for you in this story? Then open your eyes and take time to reflect on any new insights you have received.
Allow scripture to come alive and let it speak to you in new ways. When you do this you will be amazed and what you have gained.
